Lock needed to fit old door with 50mm offset...?

Postby joejjjames » 27 Aug 2014 13:31

HI!

SO....bought my first house and I have countless things to do, but I also don't want my stuff stolen! I decided to replace the lock on the front door and went out and bought a pretty standard Yale nightlatch type of thing. It said 'standard' on it quite a lot so i figured it would replace the yale style one that was on the door previously.

As soon as I Opened up the packaging, I realised it was asking for the hole in the door to be drilled 60mm from the edge of the door....Mine already has a hole at 50mm. Pretty much stuck there!

Can't seem to find any locks that say "50mm"...am I stuck and need to drill a new hole somewhere else on the door or WHAT!?!?

ANY help appreciated :o)

Cheers,

Joe, Portsmouth, UK
