combo lock advice needed

Postby buddykiller » 9 Oct 2014 8:15

so my wife is considering taking up stripping, but i'm concerned with the security of her stuff while she's on stage. it's no secret that there are plenty of shady characters behind the scenes at the clubs and she'll have no where to stash a key. she'll need 3 outfits and the shoes alone are easily $50 a pair all day long and while i could hold her purse for her in the front of the club it'd be really inconvenient as she'd need access to it in between sets. i have an inherent mistrust of combination locks, but given the circumstances we just don't have much of a choice. i was thinking of picking her up a s&g 8088 but is that kinda overkill?

It's a great choice because it looks unassuming compared to the 8077 chrome clad model, and it is easy to operate. Plus you can get one surplus on ebay for $10 bucks (not this week though, I just checked, but maybe someone here has one for sale, maybe it's me.. haha) and if anyone shoulder surfs her, you can rotate combinations every so often and keep the new combo in her cell phone notes so it isnt forgotten. They can be finicky to dial though, so practice opening and closing at home a bunch of times, so you can still open it after a few shots.

that was my main deciding factor for the 88 over the 77. the 88 looks very unassuming (if not all together cheap) and from what i've been able to find your common addict/thug would have a very hard time getting into it without drawing attention to themselves. i'm pretty sure the only combo lock she's ever used is the standard master variety so the safe-like operation will take her some time to get used to (and will hopefully confuse any prying eyes). she'll definitely have to practice at home a bit, but that sure beats getting her purse and $300 worth of outfits ganked. lol, she'll certainly have to be able to operate it while tipsy as that kind of comes with the territory. that particular part of the training should be fun though :D

thanks for the input, you've pretty much confirmed my line of thinking. now i just need to work my way into the BST section :D

You might consider the Masterlock 2010, there is a version with no key. Much more secure than the standard school locker.
It's a good day when I learn something new.
