I read almost all the New Member Materials available and all the Introduction Section
But there is a Problem in my case

All the Materials about what to buy , where to buy , how to select a pick set - are based on USA & UK or European Based

I am from India

Please Tell me a few things for starters:

1.Is there a different type of lock pick set for different country ?
2.I looked at some lock pick sets
One of them is this
http://www.dx.com/p/manganese-steel-unl ... ver-326790
another is
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/H ... 84799.html
another
http://www.dx.com/p/7-in-1-universal-ci ... set-152916
Or this one (i think it is not for me !)
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/1 ... 41810.html

Also Found These
http://www.dx.com/p/neje-hb0001-9-12-in ... ver-340918
http://www.dx.com/p/stainless-steel-hoo ... ack-134908
http://www.dx.com/p/10-in-1-locksmith-t ... ver-217571

http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/huk-18p ... k-set.html

Are these good for a beginner like me
3.Where to buy Locally - within india (because i cant find any !)?
4.Where to buy Online (Cheap !)

5.What to look for when buying a Lock pick set ?
(I read the Tutorial)

Hello MysteryBoy. First, and foremost, welcome to the forum.

If I had to guess, I'd say that most people here would love to provide you with the advice you seek, but are also unfamiliar with the types of locks and keyways that are available to you in India.

Perhaps a some information about your practice locks might help get the ball rolling.

Also tell us about the locks you typically run across (Brand names, etc). Are they manufactured in India, or are they imports that might be familiar to some of our more knowledgeable members.

Take a photo of the key-way (where you insert the key) of several "common" locks in India. For example, if someone asked me to provide a pic of "typical" residential locks for the USA, I would take a pic of a Kwikset lock and a Schlage lock.

Also, take a pic of the KEY for the locks as well.

Hi, personally I would suggest making your own. Download a template and file down a rake and several feelers, should be all you need for most disc/pin tumblers. I find windscreen wiper inserts and feeler gauges are good material.

It's nice to have large and varied types , but in reality the technique is the important thing and a rake and feeler can be sufficient as long as their size is proportional to the keyway your picking.
