key won't work now

Ok newbie question here,
I recently bought a lock pick kit and what a youtube video on how to pick (big mistake Lol) well i used the a rake tool and was able to pick the lock but now the key will not work. Am I able to reset it or do I need to have a lock smith come out?

Did you turn the plug back to the normal position? If not, do that and see if the key works now. Otherwise call a locksmith.

I did put it back to the origional position.

When you say the key wont work, does it insert all the way? what brand of lock is? got a pic of the lock and keyhole? does it have a thumb turn on the other side or keyed from both sides?

This is one of the reasons we tell new pickers to resist picking their home/apartment/dorm locks, things go wrong sometimes..
