Bumpkey.us?

Bump keys and lock bumping finally have their own area. Discuss making bump keys, proper bumping techniques, and countermeasures here.

Bumpkey.us?

Postby somenewguy » 12 Nov 2014 23:28

I am not sure if we're allowed to ask questions about specific suppliers; if not, please delete.

Has anyone successfully ordered from bumpkey.US? I placed an order 2 weeks ago and got automated confirmation from the website and my card was charged that day, but haven't heard anything from them since. I called and got an answering machine saying the number was only for orders and to email them any questions. I emailed them through the contact form on their website and through the email address on their answering machine 2 days ago, no response.

The funny thing is the site is run by a store (I assume it's a locksmith retail location) in Florida; they give their address on the site.

Is it a zombie website that is taking orders but has been abandoned?

Not completely certain, but when in doubt, you can always try to dispute the charge on your card. The sooner you do it, the more likely you'll be to get your money back. Otherwise, just keep trying to make contact, and let us know how it turns out so we won't fall into the same tiger pit if it's a bad site. Good luck!

Oh yes, they will be getting a chargeback if I don't hear anything soon. I believe I have 60 days to put in the claim, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. The items may just show up in the mail one day...

Do a search. As I recall, this place has a bad rep for not delivering.

I tried to search here for "bumpkey.us" before posting but I think something about the period in the search term was screwing things up. But based on your suggestion, I Googled it and found reviews on their own site dating to July (http://www.bumpkey.us/reviews.php?productid=33) so it's not like they went out of business years ago... But I did find:

Hopefully this post can help save some other people some time. Oddly, I think I just placed too large/varied an order. I bet they didn't have the keys cut yet and so just sat on the order figuring if I never charged it back, they'd just keep the money. I feel like if I ordered a Schlage and Master M1 they would have shipped it.

So - does anyone know of another source for Best SFIC bumpkeys? I also found http://www.bumpmylock.com/best-be2-bump-key.html
but their description is a little weird; it's unclear what keyways they have available.

Any recommendations?

Also found this site:

http://www.bumpkeyshop.com/BEST-Bump-Key/

But guess what? It's still A C T Lock&Key in Florida! That Bumpmylock place appears to be an LLC out of Texas.

I placed an order frombumpkey.us on 1/1/15 I received an auto confirmation that day a shipping confirmation on 1/3/15 and received my order without incident on 1/5/15. I didn't see all the neg feedback till after I placed the order and I was expecting to get screwed but I was surprised by the high quality of service despite all the bad reviews

I had a similar experience. I placed the order then saw the bad reviews and got nervous but I got the order two days sooner than orders from other raved about sites I ordered from the same day.

Hello,

Just saw this thread. Im interested in ordering a comprehensive set but Im not sure who to order from. Do any of you have a recommendation other than the suspect listed here?

Thanks,

Hate to point this out but not one of those sites sell bump keys......

They are selling a max Depth space key

There is a huge difference between the two

They are just out to make a quick buck from all the people who don't know any better

Is that why I can't get them to work?
