Old Yale padlock codes

Postby pwgr71 » 20 Jan 2015 9:40

Looking to see if anyone has some code info for the following Yale padlock code..... 70386 or UN70386. large 6 pin tumbler, RN11VC (Ilco 998VC) keyway. I swear i used to be able to find them in my Genericode software but i'm not having any luck. the first cut looks like it'd be a 1 or 2 and the next one would be a deep(ish) cut. Also Yale code 6082 (may not be a code but it's on the lock)... large 5 pin tumbler RN8VA (Ilco 999VA) keyway. Thanks in advance!

Having trouble with that first one, cuts for your second lock are 00367. Any chance that 7 is a 1 in the first code? How about pictures of the locks?

OK, i got some pics but can't seem to get them attached... I had impressioned a key for the Internal Revenue lock (6082 code(?) but it only works so-so. i cut one on the code machine and it works a bit better but not great. i'm thinking i might need to use the other Yale large pin depths (.025" drop instead of .019"). For cuts i have something like 32240 or 21230, so 00367 won't do it. Maybe due to the nature of the locks the codes aren't published. i've never seen Yale put a code on the top of the lock, so maybe it's just a serial #. On the USN lock it's definitely UN70386.
