If you are not kidding, put the spring in some boiling water for 5 minutes in a pot you dont use for cooking and then figure out how to get it out afterwards, Ie: dump water on neighbour's lawn ,jk

May i suggest going to your local hardware store and buying different material and sized springs to experiment with, prob be alot cheaper too!!
