sets of euro pins

Postby DiacetylMorphine » 30 Nov 2014 15:39

hello,

First i appologise if my question has alredy been ask millions of time.

I'm a newbie that just begun lockpicking as a hobby and leave in europe. I have buy a repinable lock made out of a sabre lock and i whant to find a large sets of pins (including security one) to put in it for trainning purpose. I'have search on the net but i'm unsure the pins are correct for my lock (most results are for US lock so...). And i tryed removing the pins of a TESA and VACHETTE locks and disover that even euro lock don't have all the same pins :(

So i wander if you guys have any adress where i could find those pins, or training lock (cut on the side so i can see the pins) wich come with pins (an euro one, i already saw some US but i'd like to train on euro locks).

Or if you have any better tips on how to train cheaply (i can't afford buyng tons of lock ^^)

Oh, one more thing to think about before you order - the cutaway. A lot of people with way more skill than me said it can be a bit of a crutch, and they have a point.

It is useful to begin with, why am I stuck? I think this is overset, is it? But after a very short amount of time, you end up peeking. Well, I do because I have no self deiscipline!

So you may want to look into a non-cutaway re-pinnable.

For myself, I actually don't use this anymore. I bought 8 euro cylinders for about £4 each, once I've picked one I saw it in half and collect the pins. I now have 16 easily pinnable 'practice locks' :D

Re-pinning them, as with anything was tough to begin with but is much easier with practice. Some Circlips remain my nemesis!

If you are *really* strapped for cash, and in the UK, I'd be happy to post a couple of pinned 'half euros' to you. PM me if you want.

Cheers
