Been a while since I worked on a Kaba Peaks. If I recall from back when I took the class when they first came out; don't they use the same diameter pin as all SFIC even for their conventional KIK cylinders? If so a spring from your Best kit would have worked.

Nice van Sinifar! It sounds like you've found every bit of usable space and put it to good use. I could use your help cleaning my garage...

:) :) :)

Yeah. You're way ahead of me. I'm still using a car for all this lock out stuff. Congratulations on your business advance. Best wishes with your business.

Me too I run mine out of my basement and a few tools bags/boxes out of my Ford Escape. It works not too bad so far. Very nice van though looks great! I would love to get something like that eventually.

This kind of thing might be useful, if the van had a high enough ceiling:

The last couple vans I had, I put wire mesh baskets on the ceiling so they would swing down to unload.

billdeserthills, I saw your post back before I started my build. Your picture helped convinced me I could use my minivan I already had. But I did not have any options for Adrian Steel or American Van for my old Plymouth Grand voyager so I built from scratch.

I really like to use old 2 & 3 drawer vertical files. You can put a bunch of deadbolts & stuff in a drawer and they are very strong,
once you put a 2 or 3 drawer file cabinet lock on them

I did not have the room for those. I also looked at Harbor Freight tool cabinets that mount on the side of the large tool chests. I am not done yet, but I am making some bins out of 1/4" plywood. I will just slide these out the back for lock and so on. Inside I used parts drawers for key blanks and a couple stacking tool chests for tools and small stuff. And about a dozen plastic bins for KIK, Rim and Mortice parts and other things.

Since I am a DIYer and tinkerer by nature, I am always doing "something" to the van. I added more LED lights since this picture was taken. I had shadows on the key machines now that it gets dark early here this time of year.

I am not happy with the parts bins I put on either side of the LAB kit and have yet to come up with something I like. I picked up one of these from Home Depot to play with.

But I have not come up with a satisfactory way to keep the bins from sliding out when I turn corners. The clear plastic covers do not stay in place. I am going to try putting a small bungie on each one and see if that works.
