Safe cracking

Postby Wolf2486 » 1 Nov 2004 22:09

I know that this site is focused on lockpicking, however, safe cracking is an art I am really starting to get in to. I was wondering if anyone knew of good videos or literature on safe cracking. I did do a search (just to make that clear) and have already been to howstuffworks.com and a few other places, however I have not yet been able to find a good book/video on safecracking. Any information you could provide would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Wolf.

SAVTA has what I understand to be wonderful manuals, but you first have to join SAVTA. Barring that, just buy a copy of LSS. You will find a manipulation manual in there I beleive.

I've been thinking about picking up LSS rather than spending what would likely be an equivalent amount on other books. Specifically, should I get the national locksmiths manipulation book now for $40, or save up and get LSS? Anyone have either (or both) and care to comment?

Of course, this plan only makes sense if I actually refrain from buying the other books after getting LSS...
thanks!

As I am quite the bibliophile, I would get LSS. Especially after seeing some of the demo cd. There are wonderful things there, especially some historical treatises on lever locks. I would love to read of such wonders as the Chubb Detector, in addition to learning some manipulation techniques.

I have the National Locksmith's guide to manipulation but, I haven't really spent much time reading it yet. From what I have read it seems to be a wonderful book and if you can get it for $40 I would definatly pick it up. All of the information that I have read is well writen and well illustrated but, you really need to have a lock in front of you for any of it to make sense.
