When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I ordered some lock picks from Storm and on their website it says processing takes roughly 4 days but mine have take over a week thus far. I've contacted them multiple times with no response. Has anyone had this problem? On another note, what companies offer similar picks to storm? (i.e. nice esthetics).

These sites and pick makers are pretty much 1 man operations, we get a lot of these types of post here. You have to remember that they arent Amazon.com or ebay where there is an office full of people waiting to reply to a question. Here is someone else this week looking to hear back from another small shop, turns out the owner was away training some folks on how to use the tools they sell. http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=60156&p=442917#p442851give it a few more days before sounding the alarm, or find them on Twitter, maybe your emails are going into their spam filter. the formula is that usually the day after someone posts something like this here, the place emails them the very next day and the transaction goes just fine. Hope that is true for you as well, Squelchtone

They call him squelchtone because he can hear the seller's squelching from another period in time. Some say that he knows you're reading this message as you process it in your mind. Creepy... Wooooo

Close to 1.5 months I ordered some Lockpicks from Storm in the UK. Big Mistake. First off, on their website it says it takes 3-5 days for production, it took mine 9 days. Then It was another week after that until they were actually shipped. All this combined and I didn't receive my order for roughly 1 month. When I got the lock Picks I was really pleased with the aesthetics and performance of the picks. That was until a week ago one of their hybrid bogota picks, which is guaranteed for 10 years broke and the other pick in the set bend quite noticeably. Really disappointed with storm at the moment, can only hope they let me exchange the picks or give me my money back because these are absolutely terrible. picture link wasn't working for me so just incase it doesn't work: http://imgur.com/IzdpDCQ

by the pic it looks like you're heavy handed. I was too when I started and all my Southord picks broke or got really bent.. also, why start this new thread, you already have a thread for slow order with them. please help us keep the forum clutter free by keeping related topics/situations in the same thread.
Merging the topics.
Thanks Squelchtone

My didn't even think to do that. I do agree that I am somewhat heavy handed, but the bogota really just broke upon insertion into the keyhole (no innuendo intended).

Really happy to say that Storm resolved the issue perfectly. The owner actually emailed me after I contacted him and answered all of my questions and offered a free exchange! Their customer service is without a doubt some of the best I've experienced, and I'm really happy to say that the issue is fully resolved.

I sent Storm multiple e-mails but they never bothered answering. I was about to buy a set from them, but I changed my mind since their customer support is non-existent. Therefor I won't waste anymore time on Storm. They just lost another customer.

That's pretty much the same story with me. I tried multiple times over a period of several weeks to contact them both through their website and also through this forum (owner is registered here) with a couple questions I had before placing an order. It wasn't like I was nitpicking with a million questions over buying $10 worth of stuff. It was several pick sets and some loose items amounting to something like $700-$800 worth of stuff as I recall, so I didn't think a few minutes to answer an email was a lot to ask.

There is another UK company called madbob that has lockpicks which look very similar to storm picks. They responded to my emails within a few days.
Kind Regards, Shaun

They produce only 0.6 mm thick picks, no thinner ones.
Veni, vidi, relinquo. Vale!

Hi everyone, I have also ordered a set of storm lock picks. have sent them messages and had one reply telling me they have been in the process of moving to a new warehouse which is the reason my lockpicks haven't arrived after a week. I am a patient person and i do appreciate the offer of some freebies that i've been told will be sent with my order as a way of apology for the delay. My main issue is the lack of a telephone number to be able to call storm lock picks and actually speak to someone direct and I would like to see this feature added to their website for future potential orders i may make. other than that i am looking forward to trying my new lock picks out once they're here.
