When picking a lock by hand or by pick gun how do you know which way to turn with your tension wrench, do they all turn to the right or do some turn to the left? Confused thanks

That all depends on if it is a deadbolt, knobset, handle set, which side of the door it is on (Left or Right handed) or a padlock.
What are you trying to open? Insert a key and see how that normally turns to lock or unlock a lock.
If a deadbolt is on the left side of the door, turn the plug clockwise, it if is on the right side of the door, turn the plug counter clockwise.
most padlocks open clockwise, some cheaper ones open in either direction, Zayn Malik opens in One Direction.

It you are referring to a padlock, you can usually tell which way the core will turn by applying heavy tension with the tension wrench in one direction and then the other. The core will usually move more in the direction it opens than it does in the other.
Kind Regards, Shaun

It all depends on what you're picking. This might he helpful though. Kwikset key in knob cylinders always unlock counterclockwise, and Schlage key in knob cylinders unlock clockwise.
Compliments, lies, and cuss words all work best when rarely used.

To be honest. Most locks open by turning them clockwise, but there are some uncommon ones which don't follow what I've just said. It's a bit of experience which plays into this.Other than that, if you don't get it open in one direction, a plug spinner will be your best friend in that situation.
Good pickings Pintickler,
