i like auctions, especially those in places many think are too far to go to retrieve their bounty. i just picked up my bounty today, an Ilco 029A code machine/duplicator with 5 depth knobs and 5 spacer keys for GM and Toyota.the plastic cover has no gouges or marks and the cutting wheel passed the thumbnail test.this machine with the carriage housing and the body (frame) is one cast aluminum piece. the motor is the only bolted -on part. it came from a northern minnesota on-line defunct GM dealership.the price was $85 plus buyer's fee and tax for a grand total of $99.
this was a 2 part auction.the ilco machine was auction #1. there was a curtis 2000K on auction #2 that went for $31. each auction had a different pickup day and i called the auctioneer to ask if i could pick up the curtis (if i got the winning bid) on the same day as the ilco but was told no. i didn't bid. these machines were only 600' apart at the auction site but,in my opinion, someone was too lazy to set them next to each other and put them on the same-day auction. oh well, i think i got a great deal.
