Does anyone know how to pick Abloy

Postby martinrdgz » 27 Apr 2015 17:21

Hello community,
Does anyone out here know how to pick this kind of Abloy lock? If so what pick do you recommend me buying? If you can, give me a link where I can buy the pick online that would be awesome. I bought this Abloy lock online to practice on it, my level of lock picking from 1-5 is a 3. Thanks!

Really man? You bought an Abloy Exec/Disclock T-handle vending machine lock to pick? Most Abloys are not pickable (god I hope HuxleyPig doesnt see this post )

I have to ask you to please show me another angle or more photos of that lock on your desk, otherwise I'm inclined to think its on a vending machine, and this is the reason we have the Advanced area, we are not here to teach folks how to break into vending machines and this picture has all the usual hints of an in use vending machine, unless you just had the misfortune of taking a photo that looks like that. Plus, we dont discuss disc detainer picking such as Abloy in the public area, it's restricted to Advanced Topics, because these locks often guard product or valuables.

my spidey senses tingle..

Ones sold on ebay do not usually come with the entire handle. This one is on a vending machine.

Squelch, I believe Falle has a tool for Disklock but it is in the Govt only area.

Even if all the help in the world were forthcoming, you are very unlikely to pick it anyway. Go back on eBay and buy a master 150 padlock and work on getting to a 4 and 5 skill level first.

I would set that one aside until your skill level from 1-5 is about a 12. I'm not joking.

I started off with a master lock number three from wal mart then started messing around kwiksets, then got some more cheap locks from a family member that runs a storage shed facility. I wouldn't even know where to begin on something like that. The typical pick set you would need should have a tension wrench, a rake or bogota, a reach tool and a diamond. But thats for Pin and tumbler and other locks like wafer locks and such.

To add to what was said before, this type of locks is used on displays at my local art museum,
it's a lock for high security appliances and picking it require very specific tools built especially for this type of lock, and for the lock itself,
and even with the right tool it'll still be a pain to pick.

Interesting, the face of the lock is similiar to ones on padlocks that can be re-keyed. The slots next to keyway are so you can rotate (un-screw) it with a keybow once the retaining screw has been removed.
