need qualification...

Postby Sambo975 » 4 Nov 2004 20:04

im only 17, but my parents are allowing me to purchase a beginner's lockpick set from www.thelockpickshop.com via a credit card

I was wondering if you need any special qualifications or if they check to see that you are allowed to own lockpicks to order off this site, or if anyone can buy them.

Thanks in advance, Sam

I hope you don't mean "www.thepickshop.com "

see here: viewtopic.php?t=1423

www.thepickshop.com has a very bad reputation.

try www.lockpickshop.com - the site sponsor - highly reputable.
Oh look! it's 2016!

I do not have much experience with lockpickshop.com however I know that you need absolutely no qualification to buy picks from www.southord.com .

local laws are different in different places, the site named above asks you to check these laws before ordering.

nope - apart from what they mention on their website - they won't post if the recipient name is different to the one on the credit card and they may check the credit card address or something - to see if that's the billing address for the card (not sure how that works, but anyway).

it is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure they are obeying the law.

It is the responsibility if the BUYER, not Lockpickshop.com, to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state and federal laws pertaining to the possession and use of items ordered. Consult your local and state laws before ordering if you are in doubt. By placing an order, the buyer asserts that the products will be used in a lawful manner and that they are of legal age. Absolutely NO sales to minors! By placing an order for locksmithing tools, the buyer asserts to be a bonified member of the locksmithing industry or other qualified personnel.
United States Federal law prohibits interstate mailing of locksmithing devices unless the device is mailed to a lock manufacturer or distributor; a bona fide locksmith; a bona fide repossessor, or legally authorized recipients.

That's right. As long as your credit card works, they'll ship the tools right out to you.
