Assa/Ruko 1 padlock

Postby nickmannnxx » 20 May 2015 10:06

I was searching some foreign sites looking for Ruko locks to buy and I came across this.
Image
The lock says Assa Ruko 1. I havent been able to find ANY information on them. I've asked a few people from that side of the world and they didn't even think Assa made a "model 1" padlock. Just wondering if anyone has come across these before. I would love one for my collection so any information would be very helpful. So if anyone has an idea of what core it uses, if its rekeyable, if they are still made please let me know.

I've messaged the owner but so far he/she hasnt answered.

All Ruko locks that have crossed my path have been rekeyable. That format certainly is, as far as I know.

Hi Nick

There sure is a Ruko 1 (denoted by the yellow stripe) which also represents the lowest level of security in the range, next up is green for the Ruko 2's then blue for the Ruko 3's and finally red for the Ruko 4-5 range which represents maximum security.

The 2,3 and 4-5 Rukos take ASSA cylinders and are all rekeyable, however being entry level the Ruko one is not. It uses a 5 pin core, but being a Ruko I'm sure it is not an easy pick.

It is 37mm wide, 64mm high, shackle thickness is 6mm and they sell brand new in Europe for about $50 U.S. Dollars.

Thank you for the identification of the different locks by stripe color! Did not know that. Good information. :-D
