I have a bump key and I was wondering, is it required to have those rubber o-rings on it?

Do YOU know what the word assume means? I am not breaking into anything and it's foolish for you to just assume that.

No offense is intended by any of this, but how do you exect anyone to know what you're doing. If this isn't for sport, it could be helpful to say why you need this info.
