Looking for American R2 Blanks

Postby GWiens2001 » 4 Jun 2015 7:48

Trying to find four or five blanks for the restricted American R2 (6 pin) keyway.

Have an American Series 747 padlock with that keyway, but no blanks to make a key with. Due to the very high return spring strength, don't really want to use a modified blank when impressioning, as it seems it would likely break.

If you have some blanks, and are willing to part with them, please send me a PM.

Thank You,

Gordon

I agree it's ideal to have the proper blank, but why don't you pick it open, disassemble the cylinder and fit a key this way?

Cheers :)

edit: are we talking about this lock, right?

Yes, we are talking about that lock. But with the heavy return spring, and me using impact tools all day long (am an automobile mechanic), can't feel as well as I like. Have yet to get this blasted lock open. :(

Gordon,

I just bought a very large lot of locks and tools. In that was 5 or 6 small totes of various keys. I was told by the seller that there are some high security blank included. I havent had a chance to go thru them yet. Hope to tomorrow maybe. I will let you what I find.
