S&G 4 wheel vault lock

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

S&G 4 wheel vault lock

Postby williamjcoates » 13 Jun 2015 15:10

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone knows what type of S&G vault lock this is. This lock is installed in a "CHUBB MOSLER-TAYLOR" Which looks exactly like my CHUBB safe that I am attempting to manipulate open.

Hey Squelchtone,
Awesome,
Thanks for the info. Is this lock a group 2 or group 1?

Just trying to research S&G 6805 and I come up with key lock versions? Did S&G change their numbers?

I don't believe they had Group 1 or 2 classifications back when that lock was manufactured.

Your lock is from 75 years ago, and yes, that model number is used for a key operated safe lock these days. You won't find anything on google, this lock is old and not a common 6730 that you can run out and buy.

I'm getting my info from an old book from the 1930's when your lock cost $10.78

Hi tomasfuk,
I tried the link for the photo on what you posted but it didn't work. Thanks for the info though.
I think Squelchtone, they might have kept the same design. I have a picture of the lock with the cover on it, and this lock is installed in a safe from the late 70's
