I picked up a lock at a flea market that I think is the same one. I had barely started to try to pick it when it opened. I closed it and tried again. I could get it to turn but it wouldn't unlock. I kept trying and kept getting the same result with it turning but not unlocking. Then I discovered the problem. It had actually unlocked, but it required more force to get the shackle to pop open. I had used my strongest turner and applied as much force as I dared stopping just short of bending the turner. Then I tried a slotted screwdriver (after turning the cylinder with a pick) to finish turning it. It opened, and continues to open every time I do this. (I'm going to get rid of the lock now because it is no longer a challenge.)
