Success!

A skill known and practiced for years by seasoned locksmiths, impressioning a working key from a blank is a popular new addition in locksport circles everywhere. Get your blanks and Pippin files and get busy!

Finally after a week of failed attempts, I finally have succeeded! Went to walmart after work and got a new lock, one with very mild bitting in comparison to the other lock I was trying to impression, As you will see it looks like the 1st pin is a 0 depth which made life easier.

Great work!!! pretty soon you will look at Master locks like they are nothing... sometimes I sit down to watch TV and impression 20 or so Master locks.
Keep practicing and you will only get better and faster.

Thank you so much, Yeah I guess my first impressioning isn't that impressive, would be kind of like me watching someone pick a no. 3 masterlock... not too exciting to see, but I think I have a nice foundation and a good confidence boost after a week of not so much success.

Man that is great! I was reading the FaQ thread about Impressioning, and it seemed like a perfect step by step instructional guide. Are there any things you would add or have me focus on from that post (assuming that is something you used).

Any tips or little mistakes to avoid would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
