Need Help Opening a Lock

Postby michmosh » 7 Nov 2004 22:51

Hi

I bought a travel lock...exactly like the one at this website http://www.menda.com.au/html/930000891.htm

i reset the pin when i first bought it, but now i can't remember the combo i set. Is there anyway i can work out the combination or pick the lock?? I would prefer to try and open it then buy a new one since i only bought it a few mths ago and havent really got any use out of it.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thank you

Honestly, the easiest way is to start at combination 1-1-1 and work your way up. It's tedious, but it will open it. With only 3 numbers, it shouldn't take too long.

Hi

I'm not sure if i'm doing this right but i started at 1-1-1,
then i moved the middle dial around till it reached the end 0, then i changed the bottom dial to 2, leaving the top dial at 1 and moved the middle dial from 1- 0. I then changed the bottom dial to 3, leaving the top at 1 and moved the middle dial 1-0 again. I did this until the bottom dial reached 0 (the last no.) then i moved the top dial to 2...and repeated all of the above. Is this right?? I've tried this twice and still no luck.....i'm think that i'm not taking into consideration all the possible combinations. Am i missing some with my method.??

Thanks

Treat the combination as a number. Start with 111 and count up till you get to 999.

Make that 000, 001, 002, and so on till you get to 999. Sorry about that.

Set the Combination to '000'.

Pull up on the shackle either using your finger or tie some cord around the shackle and tie to a stationary item. Then whilst keeping constent pulling pressure on the shackle, run though the first set of numbers on the first dial. You will feel a slight 'give' when you get the first correct number, then move onto the next set and so on using the same given method.
