Old safe, know the combo, but wont open :/

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

I have an old wall safe from when I was a kid. My dad got it for me to keep my coin collection in at the time.

I haven't touched it in years and am currently going off to college and wanted to open it back up. It wont open though. I found the combo for it where my dad hid it. Strangely enough for my safe he didn't write down how many times to turn the dial just LRL So i'm unsure if i'm supposed to do the traditional 3 turns or not? He wrote down the dial turns for the other house safes so not sure why he would make an oversight of mine. I do specifically remember having to spin the dial a number of time though..

But anyway, regardless of what I do I can't seem to get it open

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It reminds me of a very similar Sentry Model 7150 but your safe doesn't have the key lock next to the combination dial..

The intructions for the 7150 are this, and may work on yours as well:

TO OPERATE:
Point the dial to zero.

Turn the dial to the left. Make sure
ZERO passes the pointer at least THREE times.
Then stop at the first number of your
combination.

Turn the dial to the right. Stop the
second time you reach the second number of
your combination.

Turn the dial to the left. Stop the
first time the pointer reaches the third number
of your combination.

Press the top left corner of the door where that sticker is and see if door pops open.
