The Best keying systems A1, A2, A4, etc can be used on any core. Search for any posts about Best cores and you will find an excellent explanation of all the keying systems. Unfortunately I cannot remember who wrote it. But, it is very comprehensive.
Your core is probably A2. A2 is used much more often these days. My suggestion is to UNDERSTAND the math and not just remember the formulas. The relationships are very simple and easy to understand once you start doing it.
A2:
Bottom pins and master wafers work exactly the same as any other common masterkey system.
There is no maximum adjacent cut specification (MACS) You can put a '0' cut next to a '9' cut with no problem.
Total stack height of all pins equals 23. (Bottom, masters, control and top.)
Control key cut plus top pin number equals 13.
(Bottom pin plus master wafers plus control pin) minus 10 equals control key cut.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
