Hi

I'm a newbie and have managed to pick a few low quality padlocks. I've seen these fellas (Rotalok www.rotalok.co.uk)) and wondered if it's possible to pick something like it, has anyone got any experience on these locks?

Thanks
gogo

I've never heard of 'em before until now, but I've emailed 'em for information. Hopefully someone else has had some experience with these.

Anyone? 8)

That company makes only the padlock "shell", the housing of the padlock. It is made with an I-Core (interchangeable core) slot where the actual locking mechanism would go. Its made to allow many different brands/kinds of locking mechanisms to fit in the bottom. Depending on the type of mechanism inserted into the bottom of the lock, it will take varying levels of skill, different types of tools, or may be impossible to pick the lock in one of those padlocks.

Oh...that explains their poor explanation of how the padlock is pick resistant then...

I was trying to figure out how a "hardened steel cylinder housing and cut-out frustrates drilling and picking".

I didn't realize a hardened housing could frustrate drilling...'course, if it was winter and you were picking with your bare hands then your fingers might freeze to the metal....maybe??? ;) 8)
