What did you pick today?

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Today I picked a trigger lock. 4 pins, the spring are VERY heavy! Though I had too much tension on before I took the wrench out and just felt the pins individually. Almost felt like I would bend my pick! Once I got used to the spring weight it only took a minute to open.

Today I picked a 5 pincylinder lock. No name or branding, part of a mixed lot I picked up at Habitat for Humanity Restore. I think it is a Kwikset or knockoff, from what I can find online it's a Kwikset 1176 keyway.

This one has taken me a week of tinkering (yes I'm a newb). Could set the second pin easily, then it seemed the fourth or fifth pin would set, but if I set on the other would not set. Finally got it today, almost raking the 5th then 4th into place quickly and then other pins were easy to set.

Now to see if I can get this consistently before I move on to my next salvage lock.

So after thoroughly reading Open in 30 Seconds I again grabbed up my medeco and flew through progressive pinning. I systematically picked a randomized 6 pin medeco 3 times in a half hour :D :D
Take that UL haha

Yesterday I was able to "pick" my schlage primus. Hehe

And it was fully pinned 8)

I was pretty proud of myself that I was able to think of this novelty.
It wouldn't work in a normal setting, so it isn't a real bypass I had to take the cap thing off the back in order to put pressure on the plug. :D

Not gonna lie, Medecos are really fun! :D Ironically I have an easier time opening the one I have, than an Assa 600

Got this nice U-CHANGE and couldn't resist the urge to pick it. Thanks MacGnG
I was not sure I could pick it because it was the first time I had one in my hands, but I succeeded.
If you don't know how this lock works, this may be the excuse to look into it.

Cheers :)

Finally got into my rusted & dirty American 7260 via a Southord tubular pick. This came from bosnianbill and was a former storage unit lock. I'd given up on this a few times over the last year, but had a breakthough this week and managed to get my technique down.

edit: wrong model number

Last night, I opened a Black Dog lock for the first time. This is a Chinese lock that I believe is an American knockoff, cost about $5 from Big Lot's. This was my first success with a Yale style keyway, used a narrow tension wrench and a Sparrow's worm rake to rock it open three times.

I couldn't tell if there are any security pins in there, have to acquire some plug followers to find out.
