Pin sizes??

Postby Jarod » 8 Nov 2004 15:16

hey, a friend of mine who is a locksmith gave me some pins in a bag, and i'm sorting em out, i have found sizes that i believe to be #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 and #6 (kwikset)
but there seems to be pins smaller than #1, and pins bigger than #6, does anyone know if the pin sizes are 1-7 or 0-6? and i also wondered if anyone had pictures/text like is on the back of a pin kit (tells what locks take what sizes and what the manufacturer calls these sizes eg. #3 .127) a picture that the info could be read would be really helpful, or if somebody typed all this out for me it would be helpful too, thanks for any help.

i don't know anything about kwiksets but in pin locks you also get 'pins' that go between the pins and the springs and it could be them.

Maybe the gods (LP101 moderators) have enabled the edit button

Nope. When you post a new topic, you are allowed to edit and delete your post(s). Sometimes you can do this on post replies.

yea, it's still there, edit is handy because if you mess up and spell something wrong, you can fix it, but the flip side is post count dosn't rack up as quickly, but i'm willing to give up extra posts to not sound like a loser

From memory the edit button is only enabled in the 'Locks' forum and not in others. A quick look at some of my posts in other forums seems to bear this out....
