Hey everyone, new to the forums but I've lurked for some time. I know that everyone generally frowns upon lock bumping but as LE, it's good to have as many tools in the toolbox as possible. I started with SPP and worked my way up on the three most common residential locks (Kwikset, Defiant, and Schlage) before a buddy of mine in the department showed me lock bumping.
I pointed out to him that there were some downsides to bumping like what if you turned it the wrong way- at least when I do that with SPP, I have my plug spinner so I don't have to restart from square one. He was stumped until he came back to me the other day and showed me the "Peterson over-the-key spinner tip" http://www.thinkpeterson.com/tensiontools.html. He hasn't bought it, but it got me curious to know how this works? Anybody have experience in using one? I would imagine this goes over the bow of the key and you just turn it really fast hoping the pins don't reset as you pass center?
