I have tried searching for information on how to pick ASSA sidebar locks (in particular the one I have to try is the ASSA 4800) but haven't found anything on how to pick the sidebar. It is a 6 pin lock with 3 pin sidebar.
ASSA claim it is is pick resistant, so I am assuming the main pins are spool/serrated, but I know how to pick those. I am more interested in the sidebar - does it need special tools or will normal picks do? Also what technique should be used for picking the sidebar - I presume I cause it to bind somehow and the pick the pins individually? One suggested technique is to use an existing key's sidebar as a tension tool, but getting blanks for these is difficult.
Can anyone help?
