Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

I collect these padlocks, have some with key, and some without key. I took one without a key to local locksmith (older guy, retiring) . Instead of decoding lock, he took it apart, lost a part and told me he couldn't fix lock. Any information on this lock would help- tips, parts diagram, history. Locks are about 40 years old.

I'm pretty sure these locks are Ilco Unican Herculock padlocks with H/D AMF branding on them

There's a breakdown of one at a friend's forum: http://www.keypicking.com/viewtopic.php?f=111&t=10802

You can look around ebay and once in a while these show up, you could buy it for cheap and raid it for parts to make your HD padlock complete. Or look around for a locksmith who still has some Ilco Unican padlock parts left over from the 80's.

There's a chance yours may have been made by American Lock as well, the body reminds me of the H10 railroad locks.

The lock is American and is identical to the HT-15 American lock. These locks were made around 1975, so parts may be hard to find. There is a moderator or member living in the Appleton, wi area that does Harley lock work, but I can't remember his username.

Buggs41 lived in WI, I believe. He was a spam cop, but never a full mod. He's the only big time member from WI that I can recall.
