There is already a thread about nightmare customer, but I had a call this morning that made my day!
Yesterday I got a call from a landlord who has an elderly lady renting a small 1 bedroom house. Her car was stolen and now she did not feel safe in her home. So I went and looked at the doors and suggested we add a deadbolt to the front door. She then had me replace the lockset to have a matching set. As usual I keyed everything alike. But I always like to take my screwdriver to hinges and strike plates as a matter of practice and customer service. The strike plates were loose (screws spinning around) so I grabbed my dowel and plugged the holes and reset the screws. I replaced a couple loose screws on hinges and the door now swings and closes tight.
The landlord called me this morning to thank me for coming right over and that her tenant thought I was a hero. Last night we had a small storm and she said it was the first time she never had to put rags around the door to keep out the wind.
I just wish she had more rental properties...
Just a reminder that it is the little things we do that make people happy and good customer service does not cost us anything.
