swiss bank money box

In Switzerland you can found many of this old bank money boxes.
But there are no keys. Only the banks had keys. But not anymore.
I want to make something to open easily all boxes.
Some ideas?

This money boxes manufactured by "Bauer AG Geldschrank-Fabrik Zürich 6".
The founder of KABA.

Here some pictures:

You should be able to easily impression a key for that box.

Any flat piece of steel thinner than the keyway width and blade height no taller than the height of the keyway could be used. You will also need to cut the tip of the metal to make a guide post that keeps the key aligned.

There are a few threads on impressioning a lever lock. This one looks to be pretty easy. Somewhere here on LP101 there is a thread of a key made for one of these.

Good luck, and thanks for the pics.

Gordon

Nice box Kiliae! :)

If you don't want to impression, you can file the key's cuts one by one. Insert the key and one lever, file it until it opens, insert the second lever, file the key until it's just the right height and so on :)
If I can take a lock apart I find this is the easiest method for me :)

Best would be to find a fitting blank, mabye old locksmiths can recommend one. Sometimes old restricted blanks become available with time :)
but if you can't a sheet of metal will do as Gordon already wrote :)
