Afaik, I don't think forever has a brake lock. I have some of the kryptonite brand ones, but besides that I don't know of any reputable companies that make brake locks. I hate forever locks...terrible design (that's my opinion feel free to disagree). Have you thought about a lock and chain?

It may not be intended as a brake lock, but a S&G 833 is reasonably priced for the protection it provides. Very solid.

Where I live the Abus Detector lock with X-Plus keys is the general recommendation as a disc brake lock due to it being a pretty secure lock as well as having a 3d alarm sensor installed inside so that if someone moves the handle or the bike, the alarm will go off.

Hi guys long time no see or hear

I walked through one flea market and almost passed this until I saw a familiar logo saying ABUS. What is that? Nevermind, I´m gonna take it with 5 euros anyway. Then I studied it back home and searched for it, it seems to be ABUS Granit 69 with X plus - cylinder inside. Quite a tuff lock, it weights 663 grams... "Shackle" is 16mm so this is pretty secure lock. Price here in Finland is about 35 euros at lowest, from German website I found it at pricerange 21 - 154 euros !! If it fits your disc brake it might be a good choice. I know I´m a bit late with my suggestion but I got this lock not until yesterday.

I don´t even have a motorcycle so I don´t need this lock but posting it would cost more than lock itself, I put it in my pick-it-some-day- pile. It´s sad this lock can´t be opened to re-key. (Or to study it better) If I´m wrong here, please let me know!

And of course here are a few pics of this nice chunk of metal.

Seems like I can´t edit that post anymore, is there a time limit to that? Didn´t remember that 800 pixels limit so here goes one more time, next time I´ll remember that.

Yes, I believe editing time is up to 30 minutes after posting, in this forum. Some not at all.

Just keep in mind that, by nature, disk brake locks are not considered high security and some insurance companies won't cover you unless you have an approved chain or U lock.
If you really want a disk brake lock, you can get one from the ABUS Granit series. They are disk retainer type padlocks that are recommended by insurance companies. They can be used on the disk or with a chain, however, they are only approved when used with a proper chain.

Do you guys think it is safer to put the lock in the front or rear wheel?

I figure it is easier to take off the front wheel than the rear wheel, so I'd put it on the rear wheel.

I usually put it on the rear wheel as well, because I believe it is tougher to lift the rear wheel than the front one, if the robbers try to lift the wheel onto something to transport the bike.
