Over set pins?

Just got though picking a Barrows lock for the 2nd time.

Both times, went I finely gave up and let off tension, it sounded like 6 or 7 pins dropped.
The lock has only five pins??? The next time I was ready to give up, I tried just dropping one pin.
Went back and went though the pins again, and it opened.

So do over set pins drop first or is just more dumb luck???

I have no trouble with dumb luck because that is how I have been able to pick most of the lock I have.

Sometimes you can control tension to only drop the overset pins, but it doesn't always work that way. Reverse picking/overlifting is when you pick a lock entirely by dropping overset pins. I have some Barrows keys, and they have cool decorative bows and an unusual restrictive keyway.
