Thanks! Both suggestions seems excellent, i will however have to make sure, that if I choose option 2, I can still fit it through the holes in the trail cam. I'm not gonna use the padlock to tie the trail cam to the tree, just to make it harder for people to open up the cam.

You could make your own cable as well. that way you can get it to the right length, right diameter and such  . As a neat DIY option

you can go to hardware store and ask for the crimp kit and some wire rope / "guy wire" and make your own size/diameter/length, and make opening loops big enough for your own padlock   good idea DangerDane! Squelchtone

That's a really cool idea, I didn't know you could just buy things to make your own wire loops. very handy, I'll have to look around for one of these.
