I'm sorry if I missed this in another post, but I am not even sure how to describe this (so no luck in finding this on Google).

I bought a GOSO lock pick set and this was included, but I don't know what it is for - can anyone help?

That is a dimple rake. For raking open dimple locks.

Hardly effective for raking dimple locks no matter how many hours invested, i do find it useful for turning discs in chinese disc detainer locks and use a disc pick for it.

They can be effective in locks where the keyway allows it, and with no security pins.
