Which type of lock is this? Utility\Vendor Machine Lock

Hello everyone

Is there anybody here who knows what kind of lock this is and some information about the lock?

I supposed that the two edges are for grip and the 7 rings inside the cylinder are pins

That is a Van Lock vending lock in a T-handle. As it usually protects vending machines and money, we don't discuss them in the open forums. But will say they work along the same lines as a tubular lock. The keys are round hand have posts inside that push the pins to the proper depths.

The reason i ask is because a friend of mine got a coke machine with this particular lock, we want to open it without harming it.. We don't have the key so we are
planning to replace that lock with regualr 7pin tubular

As Gwiens2001 we don't discuss them in the open here since they go on vending machines, but we can mention you can visit youtube and type in Van Lock picked and watch some videos there.

Once you pick it, and turn clockwise, it should pop out 1/4 to 1/2 inch, then you take the big silver handle and spin it counter-clockwise 20 or 30 times to unscrew it from the machine, and then the door will open.

I'd love to get my hands on one of these but they're annoyingly tough to search for because the unhelpfully named "van lock" will get you a load of search results of, yes, you guessed it, locks for vans - just standard pin tumblers or tubulars in strong enclosures. Still trying to figure out if there's a better search term to use other than combining it with "Tubular lock" "cam" etc etc.

Good luck with it! I hear they're a bit of a bugger.
