:D It all depends, if we're talking about some kwikset and i have my favorite lockpick set with me, i'll bet i can pick the lock open faster than it takes to knock it open with a hammer

No need to search, there's a thread somewhere with links to many videos. Videos that work. Think of it as a treasure hunt, where the treasure is exactly where it should be, and all you need to do to find it is think for a second.

Actually, no, the links to videos don't necessarily work. I went to the sticky FAQ thread that has a link to Pyro's video at a lockpicking101 address, and that link is apparently out of date :?: . I eventually got the video from zeke79's ftp site.

So I'm not complaining about the moderators :) who I know are volunteering their spare time for free 8) and are very busy, but some of the information does tend to be a bit disorganised and out of date around the site. This can make searching even more of a challenge and an adventure than it already might be. :P

We are trying to clean things up a little bit. I know I've tried, but the admin tools that are available to us do not support any kind of batch work, nor even a "command line" interface to turn off "are you sure?" messages for a while. Grep is just a dream as far as I am concerned. To add to this, the Search script certainly lacks the natural language parser most google'rs are used to now a days. But we are trying to clean up as much as possible.

It is mainly just slow. Remember, this is a very large site and even if we could just batch delete things, someone would still have to read every post to keep good information and discard the rest. I would suggest that everyone actually visit the FAQ thread from time to time and to read what is written there. Then, when appropriate, direct newbies there instead of just to "Search"

I never used the search function on this site , just read through all the old posts , in the section of the forum's that are of interest .
You will find loads of info , links , etc , in fact you never know what you will find .

That's the fun bit :-)
