Yes, horrendous seems accurate, especially when we are talking that the Rytan Suggested Dealer Cost is $1.10 a pick, and Dealers are selling the picks for $2.25. I mean okay on this scale its only a dollar but the same principal that applies to larger purchases applies here. You don't go out to the store and pay 40 dollars for an item that the MSRP for is $19.99. Well hopefully you don't, especially when you can get them for the MSRP if you hassle the companys a bit.

lol in that case... just hassle those sites a bit, maybe they'll crack and give stuff to ya for MSRP.

All right - I'm talking scale - I guess you are talking principle. I still think they would be a value at $5.00 a piece...considering the amount of time it would take me to make something comparable.

Anyway, someone asked where to buy - I told them - my civic duty is done. Let each decide his own!

Exactly. That was the advice Romstar gave me when I was ranting at him about the price disparity. And let me tell you it works. I think I may just have to send him a few picks as way of thanks.

Try to remember that "hobby" pickers, really don't have much ground to stand on when it comes to 'hassling' for MSRP...the prospect of actually being able to purchase Rytans through a legitimate company probably outweighs the 17% markup. These poor guys are probably keeping their fingers crossed the whole time until the package actually arrives

Hope I'm not opening a can of worms here..but here it goes anyways...

thertel mentions a "Rytan Suggested Dealer Cost" of $1.10, so let's look at that a moment.

Let's say a locksmith phones up his supplier and says, "I'd like a couple of those Rytan picks". The supplier purchase the picks from Rytan for the $1.10+tax and shipping a piece, then sells them to the locksmith for $1.95 plus shipping and taxes. (after all the supplier has to make some money too.)

The locksmith then turns around, after paying $2.08 +shipping, and offers them to you for $2.25...doesn't sound so bad now does it...

Of course, if you WANT that $1.10 price, Rytan would would be more than happy to sell them to you at that price if you'd be willing to purchase, say...ohh...100-200. Then you're talking about a bargain. ;)
