The biggest trouble I have run into as a beginner is the number 1 pin! No mater what kind of tension I use it is the hardest one to get right. Is it just me or is this something others had trouble with????

I've never had much trouble with the first pins. It's often the first binder, and usually not a security pin. Maybe it's just the lock you have.

I quite like the first pin, because it's the only one you can (usually) actually see and therefore know if you've overset, or if it's binding etc. Useful before you can figure this stuff out just from touch.
