hi guys, so i have an american lock padlock series 1205, this thing has been beating me for 2 days. ive tried single pin picking, raking, rapping, i tried a snapgun and an electric pick..... i have 20 other locks that dont pose a problem so im hoping someone else has had this problem and can help me figure it out to open it. thanks

How about a picture of the key. The bitting can have a lot to do with how difficult it is to pick.

Also, American locks use serrated pins, spool pins, and spoorated pins. They can be rather difficult until you get the knack for them.

These seem to be the most troubling for me when they are new. I bought a six pack of them new on eBay and have this one in there that just will not give I sit around periodically just opening it with the key to try an break it in. This worked for the other 5. These are also full of serrated pins.

This has been my observation. I have 4 brand new American locks that I struggled with for a couple days. Couldn't get any open. It didn't make sense. Took one apart and there seemed to be a thin grease in it. I sprayed inside each one with brake cleaner and blew them out with compressed air. After that they were a piece of cake.
