I was practicing spp and I broke the end of my hook off inside of the keyway. It was a cheap set but it's all I have until my sparrows tuxedo kit comes in. Anyway, it's stuck in there. How can I get it out?

if the lock is not mounted to a door you can try to tap it on a counter and see if it falls out. As a new member, and a new picker, this is why we often tell new folks not to pick locks in use, when something like a pick breaks off inside, now your key doesnt work and you either cant lock up or cant get in somewhere.

Bosnianbill just posted a nice video of these extractors in action: Check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuP-T_drKFU

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that since he is waiting for a new set of picks that he's looking for a more immediate way of removing the broken pick. ordering a pick extractor online and then waiting for THAT to come in the mail doesn't really help lol. As the annoying lectures seem to have been covered about not picking locks that are in use (not that you said this lock was even in use) I won't subject you to another. Besides the fact I'm guessing you already learned that lesson the hard way in this exact circumstance. As for your actual question, I saw someone suggested tapping the lock, this is a good idea for padlocks and what have you. If it's a door lock or deadbolt I'm assuming it's yours (hoping it is in fact otherwise it's possibly illegal lol) I would suggest removing the knob/lock from the door. It's fairly simple, just unscrew it and then you can bang, shake or tap away until it comes out. I myself have discovered my own method that is actually quite simple...

You take a pick, any of the others that fit into the lock, and scrape it on a fridge magnet. This will imbue the end of the pick with a slight magnetic attraction. You can then put it in the lock and - provided the broken pick was metal- can hopefully grab the broken piece and pull it out. I did this when the tooth of a key had broke off in one of my customers locks. I now have a thin steel strip I use for just such an occasion that has a magnetized head. Just like a magnetic screwdriver. If you have an air compressor you can blow air into the lock or grab a can of compressed air from a convenience store and attempt the same thing. They don't sell lock extractors at my local hardware store, so if you're in the same position, ordering a lock extractor online will be a good investment in the future, but doesn't help you now. Hope this helps, and good luck!
Don't showboat, don't brag about your skills, be humble and practice always.

Thank you. The pick as it turns out, was not metal somehow, or able to be magnitized. I was able to hit the lock with the sole of a shoe for what felt like a hundred times to get most of it out. I then raked it to try to get all of the pieces out then air compressed it as you said I did pick it again, however I don't believe it has a removable core, I'd have to damage the lock shell? To remove the core.
