Can a key be made for this? If so, what should I expect it to cost?

Yes, I would charge $15 - $20.

Thank you. Your responses are appreciated.

The bag is now a novelty item that belonged to my dad. I have no practical use for it but thought it might be fun to have a key made I wonder if the bank branch (now operated by Bank of America) has its key. The account has been open since 1980 and the only thing that changed is the bank name.

For $15, I would pay the local locksmith to make a key in his down time. For $30, I might leave it without a key until it serves a practical purpose. That's not to say your time isn't worth the price you proposed charging - I've learned from my other thread that many years of learning and experience go into what you guys do.

Again - thank you.

I have a blue one hanging from the ceiling in my shop with that same lock. I just think it is an amusing curiosity, a bank bag made to hold cash securely enough that it is provided with a 7-pin tumbler lock. Only any scissors or pocketknife will readily cut it open... I see the blanks on e-bay from time to time, maybe you could make your own key.
That would give you a feeling worth much more than $35!

I don't think it is secured to protect the contents from theft as much as ensure an accurate chain of custody. You don't have to keep counting the money if it's not cut open.
