Yes, he did...mostly to safe you a ton of grief in case something really did break or is worn out and you go and lock it up again...THEN you'd be in some distress.

ahhhh nonono i am taking EVERYTHING out of it, or not close it at all. until my mom comes and SHE Does it .... so that it will be her fualt!! she doesn't worry about the money !!! i do. cus if i did close it and not open it again. ill have to pay it from my OWN money..... me don't care about the rest.. but tnxs

Yeah...definitely don't close it again. You might want to mention to her that you detected some problem when opening the safe and suggest to her that someone should come and have a serious look at it and check for wear. That would probably make her more happy than not telling her at all.
