Jarod suggests that you obtain some of the metal strips that are used to reinforce winshield wipers. Then he suggests that you use a grinder or a Dremel rotary tool to shape those metal strips to make picks.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.
Have you ever seen a windshield wiper. You know those black things on the car that move the rain off the front window? You need to get some of these. Old used ones are best, mainly because you can pretty much have them for free, just ask any automotive store or garage. Once you get a few, you must take them apart, to get to the rubber strip. If you look carefully, you will see a piece of metal that looks like its inserted into the rubber. Just pull it out and there you go.
This is a dremel http://www.dremel.com/html/home_fr.html
This is a grinder http://www.toolpeddler.com/GR150.htm

I have a suspicion that people are continuing to spoon feed you information because your username sounds female and your ignorance on this subject is kinda cute in a weird sort of way, but at some stage, you're going to have to go and do some reading for yourself.
have you read the MIT guide to lockpicking? do you understand what a lock pick looks like? if so, then all you need to do is get a piece of metal like either a wind screen wiper blade, or a hacksaw blade - or in a pinch a bobby pin or as a last resort a paperclip and grind, file, sandpaper or bend it into the shape of a lockpick.
next grab a thinner piece of metal (wiper blades and boby pins are good widths.) and bend it into the shape of a tension wrench.
next read the MIT guide again and spend time reading the posts on this site - you'll do ok.
Oh look! it's 2016!

Ugh, I'm going to have to agree with WhiteHat on this one.
Hey Fera, would you mind posting your nationality and age? Maybe waking up too early in the morning is a contributing factor, but whatever your saying between smiley faces gives me a dyslexic feeling =\ . Theres a search button near the top of this page (between our banner (a pretty thing with the words "lockpicking101" ) and your post) . I suggest you search for such things as "winDshield wiper" (note presence of a D) and consult the search for any further information.
I have read this entire thread and am still not even vaguely aware of what it is you need to know (that cant be learned in an elementary schools english class >=D ) Again this may be a result of my lack of sleep, but to get the best information possible you must be precise and accurate with what you need to know.
I apologize if this is coming out as a flame, but until you understand the basic mechanism of a lock, you will never understand what we are saying and we wont be able to spoon feed you as we've tried already. "So what do I do with that metal" "How you open that stuff" Metal is what tools are made of, that stuff is called a lock and you open it through manipulation of it's innards, whether those innards be pins, wafers, or levers. You manipulate the innards of "That Stuff" With the tools made from "That Metal" *takes ten deep breathes*

I think there really has been a breakdown in communication here.
I believe perhaps fara came to this site just to learn something about locks.
Suddenly everybody is going crazy and talking about how to pick locks open without using the key. Why would anybody want to do such a daft thing when you can just put a key in the lock and turn it?
Everyone here is so into lockpicking that they forget; some people may be starting at the very beginning and may not even understand the motivation for wanting to pick locks.
I should mention that I first came here to learn how to dismantle and rekey locks. Picking was not the first thing on my mind at all. I was just a seeker of information and it turns out that lockpicking101 has a nice group of helpful people with a lot of useful information to share.
So maybe we should just lighten up a little and stop assuming for the moment that fara wants to know how to pick locks? Maybe she just wants to learn about how locks work?
