Sparrow sandman pick

Postby Daltonj21 » 29 Mar 2016 8:37

When I seen this pick I thought about making or buying it. It looks like a S rake but it has little ball on the bottom, I assume for spp. Does anyone have any experience with this pick or design?

I have no idea what the ball he's speaking of is for other than maybe leverage in the back of the lock.

The description seems to suggest using it as a rocker, so that little ball/nipple/protrusion is probably the suggested pivot point. I usually pivot off my tension wrench.

That's something i try to avoid. I always pivot off a warding, and make sure the pick isn't touching the wrench. I think it may give me false feedback if it touches it.

It's curious that we pick in such different ways, isn't it?

Cheers :)

Yea I think it's for leverage. I thought it was a fairly ingenious idea for the high back pins. I also try not you use the T wrench because I found myself moving it and thinking it was feedback from a security pin.
