It's nice. Trying to get my employers to purchase from "lockpicks.com" may be iffy though.

They're a legitimate locksmith supply house, with a fun name, just tell your employer that. Not everything can be purchased at McMaster Carr or Grainger. :-)

Haha, it's real hit or miss when it comes to the Japanese and their sense of humor. You can tell real quick just by asking "what is kancho?".

You could rivet a normal cam lock plate to the plate. They are less than $1. Like these.

Agree with Cledry. If you can't punch a d hole, cutting a round hole and using a cam lock plate is the next best thing. I find that they usually thicker than the base material and therefore less prone to coming loose due to "rounding out".

Not my idea, been posted by a few around the inter web. It's a cool trick that's saved me a few times so I like to share it. Everything new is old! :)
