Help picking simple lock (on a gun safe)

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Help picking simple lock (on a gun safe)

Postby rgh001 » 23 Apr 2016 21:52

So I'm a complete novice. I have a couple basic lock picking tools. Here's the lowdown. I have a Bunker Hill Digital Executive Safe, the 59 inch one. It opens with a pass code and has a tubular lock override in case you forget the pass code. Anyways I know the pass code and have the override keys. So here's my problem. Inside the safe there is a lock box at the uppermost part of the safe. I lost the keys to open it! All I know is it is a pretty basic lock, that when locked is in the horizontal position. Any help would be greatly appreciated! And please remember I'm a complete novice.

This is the safe in question- note the keys used

Closest picture of lock I could find. Not there to take a picture of the actual lock right now.

nope. not gonna happen. I see you also already posted about breaking things off inside a lock, you called it a horizontal lock, it's a cam lock.

Unfortunately, we don't know you from Adam, and who knows if its your safe or someone elses and if we show you how to get into that, then any bored teenager needing to get into dad's gun safe can also easily find our helpful instructions here and misuse them. So we don't help with safe locks even if they seem simple.

watch a video on picking cam locks on youtube or call a locksmith or get your Dewalt out.
