Home Brew dimple picks ...

Postby mackai » 20 May 2016 16:43

H,i I'm looking for profiles/dimension/suggestion for dimple picks. I see a lot of profiles for standard picks but I haven't seen anything for dimple. I made some "quick pick' handles from Bosnian Bills videos and have made a couple picks to try out the techniques. Now I'm ready to start making some actual picks for the handles. I'm just looking for a basic set to start with and then I can start making/modifying what I think I need based on what I run into ..... Thanks

Look at Femurat's picks. They work great.

Thanks Gordon

mackai, for dimple locks I make half diamonds with a thin shaft and a steep tip. You can thin down the shaft of a standard half diamond if you want to save some time.
Slide the tip under a pin and rotate the handle to lift it.

Cheers :)

mackai,
I'm just wondering what dimple picks you are running into in your part of the US, or are you buying European dimple picking practice locks on places like ebay?

Thanks
