Stand for cutaway practice locks?

I am trying to find a way to hold my cutaway practice lock. The only stand I've seen that allows you to see that action that's going on inside the lock is this $60 Cyclops stand that seems way too expensive and has bad review anyways. I have tried to rig up different DIY stand for this, but I haven't found anything that holds the lock securely. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would make one out of wood. Do have the means to?

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to make a wood stand. The thing is, you could set it in a stand but it would always have to have one side open so you can see inside, which means it wouldn't be held securely. It's tricky to clamp in a vice too because it's round.

If you are in the USA, there is a pretty cheap vice that seems to work pretty well. It is at Tractor Supply and is under $20.

I'm just a beginner, but it has worked for me...

Thanks, but do you have a link to the vise you use? I checked out their website and they have a ton of different ones, not sure which one is best to let you see clearly.

Might also try a c clamp then put the c clamp into a vice.

I tried, but the c clamp blocked the keyway on one end. Do you have a picture of your setup?

you should ask member jimylongs here or on Twitter @jimylongs if he will 3d print you a stand, there's also another member here who makes a nice hand held cradle for KIK (key in knob) style cylinders but it would hide the cutaway features since the cylinder slides inside the holder.

Works perfect for me, and will fit pretty much any lock.

I was just thinking of a good, cheap way to hold my picks for sanding and to hold a few locks in place. Thank you for posting this up .
